Yum, my rosin smells like pine!

Really? Have you ever wondered why?
Most of the odor/fragrance we notice from conifer trees, including pines is from a chemical compound called Pinene.
Pinene is a Terpene and if that second word sounds a bit familiar to you it's probably because Terpene is a major component of Turpentine!
You know...the stuff we use to remove varnish, paint and other finishes?
